Stay-Silv® 6HP Brazing Alloy HARRIS

Stay-Silv® 6HP is a medium melting range silver brazing filler metal developed primarily for copper-to-copper brazing applications. It can also be used for joining copper to brass when proper brazing flux is applied.

The higher phosphorus content creates a highly fluid alloy with lower working temperature characteristics, making it especially suitable for manual brazing as well as applications using brazing rings or automated wire feed systems. Its fluid behavior allows efficient joint filling and penetration in production and installation environments.

The alloy is not recommended for brazing steel or other ferrous base metals since phosphorus promotes brittle compound formation with ferrous materials.

Corrosion resistance is generally comparable to copper base metals; however, phosphorus-containing alloys should not be used where brazed joints are exposed to sulfur or sulfur compounds during service.
