Product details
Stay-Silv® 6 Brazing Alloy HARRIS
Stay-Silv® 6 is a medium melting range silver brazing filler metal primarily designed for copper-to-copper brazing applications. It can also be used to join copper to brass when appropriate brazing flux is applied.
The alloy contains lower phosphorus content compared to AWS BCuP-4 classification alloys, making it suitable for a wide range of brazing applications. Its melting range allows effective performance in assemblies where joint clearances are wider, offering flexibility during fabrication and installation.
Stay-Silv® 6 is commonly used in rod form for manual brazing operations and is also available as brazing rings or spooled wire for semi-automated production work.
The alloy is not recommended for brazing steel or other ferrous metals because phosphorus promotes brittle compound formation with ferrous base materials.
Corrosion resistance is generally similar to copper base metals, but phosphorus-containing alloys should not be used where joints are exposed to sulfur or sulfur compounds during service.
